No liquid nitrogen in the tank. Customers will need to obtain their own Liquid Nitrogen. A dewar tank (also known as a cryogenic storage dewar, specialized vacuum flask) is a double-walled flask of metal or silvered glass with a vacuum between the walls, used to hold liquids at well below room temperature.

This makes it perfect to hold and store liquid nitrogen. A dewar is designed for the sole purpose of holding extremely cold liquids, and has the shape, capacity, and material construction to store liquid nitrogen. Due to the fact that liquid nitrogen does not require pressurization, it is a compact and readily transported source of dry nitrogen gas.

Dewars are extremely useful because of their ability to maintain temperatures far below the freezing point of water. Liquid nitrogen does not evaporate quickly when stored in a dewar. Some of the applications that liquid nitrogen are used for include but are not limited to the culinary, medical, and technology fields. Holding time is tested in a static status without canisters or samples inside. Moving tanks, opening tanks, or adding samples will fasten the evaporation of liquid nitrogen.

Actual holding time can vary depending on. If there are canisters inside.

Size, temperature and heat capacity of the sample. Temperature and humidity of the surrounding. Any movement (during changing samples or while transporting). For the first use of liquid nitrogen dewar, full fill it with LN2 and let it stand for approximately 24 hours.

LN2 evaporates very quickly for the first use. After approximately 24 hours, refill the dewar then put your samples into the dewar. Boiling and splashing always occur when filling a warm container with cryogenic liquid or when inserting objects into the liquid. Only use liquid nitrogen in a well ventilated area because it can cause asphyxiation. Any skin contact with liquid nitrogen will result in cold burns.
